Tourism in Muscat

Tourism is developing in the Sultanate of , and this is due to the policies followed by the previous rulers. According to statistics in 2003, the number of foreign visitors to the Sultanate of Oman reached approximately 630, 26% of whom came from Europe, and the amount of revenue due to tourism in the same year amounted to approximately 372. million dollars, and during 2004 the US State Department estimated that the daily cost of residency in Muscat was approximately 240 dollars. ^[1] .

Muscat, the capital of the Sultanate of Oman , is characterized by its architectural beauty, and is filled with mosques and museums. Among the areas that attract tourists are the coastal city of Sur, the historical monuments in the city of Nizwa, and the peninsula with its distinctive topography, where tourists can practice fishing, diving, and visit many other places. ^[2]

• The Green City: It contains decorated squares and gardens that attract many tourists.
• Bahla Fort: Bahla Fort is one of the four important forts in the city.
• Wahiba Sands: It is a huge mass of sand dunes that undulate and rise to nearly 200 m.
• Jabal Shams: It is the highest peak in Oman.
• Ras Al-Janzah: a haven where turtles live.
• Al Alam Palace: The palace is distinguished by the distinctive modern Arab architecture.
• Jalili Fort, Palm Fort, and Mirani Fort.
• Al Batinah Coast.

Muscat

The city of Muscat is located within the Governorate of Muscat in the Sultanate of Oman , at an altitude of 7 m above sea level. It is the largest city in the Sultanate of Oman, and the population of the city is approximately 797,000. ^[4] The climate in the Sultanate of Oman differs from the location of the region of the country, where the Mediterranean climate prevails in the east and north, in the west and south a tropical climate prevails, and in the middle the desert climate prevails. ^[5]
