Uber Moves To Accept Bitcoin Payments

Uber Accept Bitcoin Payments

Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi said in an interview with Bloomberg that the company has had internal discussions about cryptocurrencies all the time.

The CEO revealed that Uber intends to accept Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies at some point in the future in exchange for rides.

However, the company is taking the same approach as Tesla by waiting for changes that may lower transaction fees and make it more environmentally friendly.

Now is not the time, Khosrowshahi said. It seems that the high fees for transferring and the negative environmental impacts of mining mining are some of the reasons why the platform is not yet accepting Bitcoin.

“I think you might see us lean towards cryptocurrencies a little bit more as the switching mechanism becomes less expensive and more environmentally friendly,” Khosrowshahi said.

Uber is one of the most popular apps in the world. It allows customers to book a taxi and order food online, among other things.

Usually crypto adoption news has a positive effect on the market. The adoption of a massive platform such as Uber for Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies may help its price rise significantly.

And if Uber enters the cryptocurrency space, it joins a number of companies that accept it, most notably Microsoft, Wikipedia and AT&T.

However, other big companies were more hesitant. Cryptocurrencies, along with related products such as NFT, have been criticized for using huge amounts of energy generated in part by burning fossil fuels.

Crypto adoption over the past year has gained a lot of strength. El Salvador’s acceptance of Bitcoin as legal tender is one such example.

AMC has also started accepting payments across several cryptocurrencies a few months ago such as Bitcoin, Ethereum and Dogecoin, with the intention of adding Shiba to the platform as well soon.

And retailer Newegg has long accepted the most popular cryptocurrency payments. He also expanded the payment options in the later period to include Shiba currency.

The price of Bitcoin reached about 44,000 dollars, an increase of 7 percent. Bitcoin showed some strong upward momentum a few days ago. But the price fell again after many political and economic news.

It is unclear at the moment whether this decline represents a minor setback for the cryptocurrency, and may resume its recovery soon, or whether this setback may lead to a lower level in the price.
